Two-Day Oil Painting Workshop: Portraits in Alla Prima

Join me for an immersive two-day portrait painting intensive in my stunning Mapleton Art Studio. This workshop is designed for painters with experience who want to explore the gestural, fast, and free-flowing alla prima technique in oils.

On the first day, we will work from a live model, learning to capture the essence of the female face with bold brushwork and expressive mark-making. Over two days, we’ll explore form, tone, colour mixing, and composition, breaking down the portrait painting process into simple, achievable steps.

By the end of the workshop, you will:
- Develop confidence in painting portraits with a fresh, spontaneous approach
- Deepen your understanding of form, light, and structure
- Explore colour mixing for rich and dynamic skin tones
- Create a finished small portrait and gain practical skills to use in your studio

With all materials provided, just bring yourself and your enthusiasm!
