Join Sunshine Coast Hinterland artist Lauren Jones for an intimate two-day oil painting retreat held in her Mapleton studio.

Designed for painters with prior experience, this rare workshop offers an immersive exploration of alla prima oil painting through the genre of still life, flowers and collected keepsakes.
Over two days, Lauren will guide participants through her personal approach to composition, colour relationships, tonal structure, brushwork, gesture, and painterly decision-making, balancing technical understanding with intuition and immediacy.
Participants will complete a resolved painting alongside smaller studies and exercises developed throughout the weekend.
With only ten places available, this workshop is intentionally small and highly personalised.
The experience includes all artist materials, morning refreshments and a grazing platter on the first day and a shared banquet lunch at Mapleton Public House on the last day. Created in collaboration with the restaurant exclusively for the workshop weekend.
Held only once or twice each year, these workshops are designed as a meaningful creative pause: a weekend of painting, conversation, beautiful food, and immersion in the Hinterland studio environment.

Cancellation policy:
Cancellations made 14 days or more before the workshop start date will receive a full refund or the option to transfer to a future workshop.
Cancellations made 7–13 days before the workshop will receive a 50% refund.
Cancellations made less than 7 days before the workshop are non-refundable, but you may transfer your spot to another person if you notify me in advance.
Cancellations by the Organizer:
In the unlikely event that I need to cancel or reschedule the workshop, you will receive a full refund or the option to transfer your booking to a future date.
